“Everything has changed but nothing has changed” says the reporter who sparked the #MeToo movement 3 years ago.

Memories are still fresh when on October 5, 2017, the New York Times published an exposé that uncovered the sexual harassment and sexual misconduct by the Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein. This was the spark that started the #MeToo movement. We asked one of the reporters, Megan Twohey who conducted the investigative reporting, her thoughts on how the article has changed the world over the past three years.

What was so impressive for me was Ms Twohey’s careful choice of words and assertiveness in answering the questions.

Ms. Twohey and the New York Times won the Pulitzer Prize for their coverage of Harvey Weinstein. The first-class nonfiction book “She said” detailing the behind-the-scenes of their said reporting has become a bestseller all over the world, including Japan, and it is also set to be made into a movie. I look forward to writing an introduction article or column upon the release of the movie.
